Schola Cantorum, which is touring the United States for the first time in 25 years, will bring an all a cappella program from the heart of their English choral tradition to Trinity Church.. The performance will indulge listeners in a survey of English masterpieces, going back to the music of
- John Sheppard
- Orlando Gibbons
- Sir Hubert Parry
and up to more recent choral works by
- William Walton
- Ralph Vaughan Williams
- Tarik O’Regan
In his 12 years as conductor of Schola Cantorum, James Burton has heightened the choir’s international fame through numerous award-winning recordings, performances on UK television, film, and radio, and collaborations with world-renowned patrons such as Sir Michael Tippett.
The Glee Club Presents is an innovative concert series, supported by the Glee Club Annual Fund and the Lewis Center for the Arts, which brings distinguished choral ensembles to the Princeton community, and brings Princeton's students into contact with new musical styles, cultures, and repertoire.
