Student Conductors 2021-22

Katie Chou ’23 is a junior from Palo Alto, CA pursuing a concentration in Computer Science with certificates in Consort Singing, Choral Conducting, and Asian American Studies. When she was in high school, she developed a passion for choral music and choral conducting as the student conductor of iSing Silicon Valley Girlchoir under the mentorship of Jennah Delp-Somers, and is excitedly continuing her study at Princeton with Gabriel Crouch. This year, she has conducted the Glee Club in Theo Trevisan ’22’s Bene Ascolta and Lili Boulanger’s Les Sirènes.

Shruti Venkat '23 is a junior from Edison, NJ pursuing a concentration in Economics with certificates in Statistics and Machine Learning, Finance, Consort Singing, and Musical Conducting. Beginning her conducting journey with Gabriel Crouch in his Techniques of Conducting course, she found a love for choral and orchestral conducting and has been studying Conducting with Gabriel Crouch and Michael Pratt. Along with her responsibilities as PUGC Manager, she has conducted various pieces for the Glee Club in the 2021-2022 year, including Lili Boulanger’s Pendant la Tempete and Theo Trevisan’s Bene Ascolta.
