RUTGERS GLEE CLUB

The Rutgers University Glee Club is one of the oldest and most distinguished men's choruses in the United States. Tracing its roots back to 1872, the Rutgers Glee Club has been among the nation's premier collegiate choirs for one hundred and forty yeas. Founded by a group of sophomores under the leadership of Edwin E. Colburn, the Rutgers College Glee Club performed its first concert in Metuchen in March of 1873. The Glee Club is strongly linked to the history of Rutgers University, and its early repertoire was dominated by songs of school spirit and the emerging collegiate sport of football.

YALE GLEE CLUB

The Yale Glee Club is Yale’s principal undergraduate mixed choir and oldest musical organization, currently in its 159th season. In recent seasons, the Glee Club has won rave reviews in the national press, from The New York Times (“one of the best collegiate singing ensembles, and one of the most adventurous…an exciting, beautifully sung concert at Carnegie Hall”) to The Washington Post (“Under the direction of Jeffrey Douma, the sopranos - indeed, all the voices - sang as one voice, with flawless intonation…their treacherous semitones and contrapuntal subtleties became otherwordly, transcendent even”).
